Autism Learning Tools Version 2.4

LizzyB Learning Tools is an educational and developmental application designed to support children in acquiring foundational skills. While initially aimed at children on the autism spectrum, it also demonstrates utility for neurotypical toddlers. The platform enables children to engage in activities that enhance matching, short-term memory, number and letter recognition, fine motor skills, among others, all within an engaging environment.

The program emphasizes targeted skill development for children with autism and developmental delays, utilizing straightforward instructions and visually appealing animations. These features facilitate task navigation, mirroring therapy session activities. The platform provides progress reports for parents to track development and maintain records. Additionally, it offers export capabilities for documentation purposes, such as homeschooling records, including the duration spent on each activity.

The application supports independent use by young children and those with special needs, often requiring minimal supervision.

Levels include:

1. Drag & Drop: Children begin by positioning characters into matching shapes. As skills improve, levels advance to include fruits, vegetables, and eventually letters and numbers, supplemented with engaging characters. Words are displayed alongside shapes to promote word recognition.
2. Maze: Navigate characters through increasingly complex mazes to enhance hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
3. Memory Cards: Match numbers, shapes, characters, and more, with levels escalating in difficulty to bolster visual and memory skills.
4. Balloons: Follow prompts to select balloons by color, number, or letter. This activity incorporates dynamic visuals of balloons and birds in an interactive popping game that also cultivates attention and instruction-following skills. Caution is advised as birds may interfere with balloon popping if responses are delayed.
5. Tracing Numbers: Practice numeral recognition by tracing numbers with guided strokes, counting animals, and observing them hop onto a train. This activity lays the groundwork for early numeracy skills.
6. Tracing Letters: Extend tracing activities to uppercase and lowercase letters. Children can identify images associated with each letter which then 'fly' onto train cars. For increased challenge, using a stylus can help develop pencil grip.
7. Where’s The Questions & Answers: Comprising ten levels with diverse question types, this activity introduces concepts of colors and shapes initially, followed by numbers 1-10 or 11-20. Additional sets include letters and categoric items such as animals and household objects.
8. Simon Games & Puzzles: Six variants of the classic Simon game teach colors and numbers; advanced levels feature multiple screens. Further activities include rotating number puzzles, an alphabet puzzle, and a geography puzzle.
9. Spoken Questions & Answers ("Where's the...") Levels: Covering colors, shapes, numbers, letters (upper & lowercase), animals, household items, and fruits & vegetables across ten levels.

The program offers a total of eight lessons with ten levels each.

About Us

In response to the challenges posed by recent times, the developers sought constructive ways to engage children at home. This initiative led to the creation of LizzyB Learning Software as a family project dedicated to providing educational value through engaging activities that promote skill development while maintaining children's attention.

The app was originally designed for children like LizzyB but has proven beneficial for her neurotypical siblings and relatives as well. It offers a versatile platform for children of various developmental needs to learn independently or with minimal assistance.
